Fort Wayne Derby Girls to host charity bout for Aliahna Lemmon Benefit Fund
Fort Wayne, Indiana (January 8, 2012) The charity driven Fort Wayne Derby Girls are hosting a bout on Sunday, January 8, at Bell’s Skating Rink. In addition to offering a sneak peek to fans for the 2012 season, which will open on Saturday, January 21 at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum, a portion of the proceeds from the bout will be donated to the Aliahna Lemmon Benefit Fund and to Erin’s House for Grieving Children in Aliahna’s memory.
“We felt it was important to reach out and give back after such a senseless tragedy. The Benefit Fund was set up to help with funeral costs, counseling and anything else that will help the family grieve properly and be able to move forward. Erin’s House provides free grief support to families, focusing on children and teens that have lost a loved one. We thought it would be perfect way to honor Aliahna by making a donation to a wonderful organization in her memory.”—Last Call FWDG President
